The past few weeks have been full of tragedy, sadness, and stress. It's safe to say we could all use a little pick-me-up. We are in need of some goodness. One of my favorite TikTok influencers shared a video recently with an idea in it that I can't help but spread the word about. Anna (TikTok- @annaxsitar) made a list of just plain good things. This list consisted of things that were going right for her, things that made her smile, and any random thought that provoked positivity in her life. As I watched her share the list, I could tell not only thinking of the positives but sharing them with others made her increasingly happier as she went on. Having a pretty bad week myself, I wanted to try this exercise to see the effect it might have on my outlook of the week.

So, here is my list...

  1. An elderly customer of mine was able to figure out how to use Facetime on his phone this weekend, and we were able to show his son the desk he was buying

  2. My sister is nearly done with law school after working her butt off for YEARS

  3. I bought some new clothes that have bright colors and made me excited for the warm weather coming up

  4. I was home alone for lunch today, so I hosted my own fake cooking show in my kitchen

  5. I heard a song that I knew every word to but hadn't listened to in years

  6. I found a new TV show that I enjoy (stream Cruel Summer on Hulu)

  7. Yesterday I had planned on waking up early to work out, and I actually did it

  8. My godmother, uncle, and my boyfriend's grandparents all came to see me at work on the same day

  9. I finally learned how to use my gas oven and hung some pictures on the walls at my new apartment!

  10. I got off work a few hours early, and my boyfriend took me on a date where we shared a brownie sundae... on a Sunday

I'm sure everyone's list looks a bit different, and the things that bring me joy may not be the same for you, but I highly recommend giving this a go for yourself. For the first time in a long time, I focused solely on the good for a while. The list had a mind of its own growing rapidly as one happy thought led to another. If you're feeling down today, try this out! Even if you're having a great day, keep the good vibes going! I plan to keep updating my list to create a new, better energy in my life.
